Terberg Ro Ro by Zon
Good day again group! It is a weekend for completing projects. Once again working for my friend Mr. X, I have undertaken building two Zon
model kits, Ro Ro Terberg yard tractors. Mr. X sent me these kits as part of the work I have undertaken for him.
I have to say that I am less than pleased with the quality of a Zon kit. The fit and finish of the kit is pretty bad, and the window install is just down
right horrible. I spent at least 6 hours with the rotary tool, sand paper and files to get the pieces in some what of an order that they can go
together. For the most part all of the pieces were twisted, bent and had so much excess slag on them it was hard to tell what was model and
what was slag. One of the models, the one I get to keep, has dis formed rear fenders, the casting was short and and warped-nothing could be
done to fix it. Getting parts to be square or even line up was an almost impossible task. It might have been easier to carve the model out of a
solid block of diecast! And to top it off both kits were missing pieces!
All that said, I was able to get the model together in somewhat a presentable order. I present the Terberg Ro Ro:
The rotary tool with flexible attachment is a must!

Parts and pieces organized in order of assembly

Some sub assembly was done before painting

Here is a shot of the the two sub assemblies, one is in the raw metal, the other I ran through the sand blaster to try and clean it up-one of the more
successful portions of the project.

Anyway Mr. X if you are out there, your is on its way. Do not despair, I made mine the practice model, learned the right way to do it and your is
finished with a bit of polish! I think you will like it! Thanks for looking!
